SOPHIA

1978 Airstream Tradewind 25′

Client: Active family of four
Vessel: 1978 TRADEWIND 25′
Location: Foothills overlooking Silicon Valley
Purpose: Guesthouse and playroom

Design Highlights:

Sophia is a classy, authentic Airstream. Whether it’s a romantic weekend for two along the California coast, or a romper room for two active kids. The bathroom floor drains through two drop-in plank mats crafted from reclaimed wood. Water drains into an onboard grey water tank for off-the-grid use or diverted into the home’s septic system when parked at home. To enhance its usefulness the owners wanted Sophia to act in dual roles as a guesthouse and playroom for their family to enjoy with two active children. The owners even built their own bunk bed from actual old, retired, reclaimed wood pallets. Raw wood, stainless steel, glass, polished hardscape and smooth white cabinetry. Durable yet soft, with calming tones.

Why so few photos? Innovative Spaces was founded in 2015 when our owner Nate Stover, who was then the head builder for Hofmann Architecture, took over the facility, tools and construction team from Hofmann to continue to grow the business. As such, we don't have as many photos as we'd like of this Airstream, but the timelessness of this project lives on and is a great example of what you might expect from us.
